Chat
Chat that knows it’s just the chat.
Every other tool treats chat as the product, so everything — files, plans, decisions — gets stuffed into it and lost. TinyHubs treats chat as what it is: the place your group talks. The important things live next door, as objects. That one decision makes both halves better.
Channels, kept few
Real-time messages, presence, unread markers, history. A couple of channels is plenty for most groups — #general, #matchday — and nothing nags you to make more.
Private when it needs to be
A coaches’ or committee channel is invisible to non-members — not grayed out, invisible. In family hubs, channels can include the parents, the participants, or both, and stay correct automatically as people come and go.
Objects, referenced in chat
Events, polls, files, and forms announce themselves in the channel and are linkable from any message — so conversation points at the record instead of becoming it.
What chat here doesn’t have
No streaks. No read receipts. No algorithmic anything. No bots. Notifications are deliberately minimal — the design goal is that someone who checks once a day misses nothing important, not that they check twenty times. This is on purpose.
